Fyi: a ppt for the slot on a critical review of DT: towards the ExtenDT2 workshop on Design Thinking in Education

by Shamim Patel

For info: The ppt that Chronis was referring to in our project meeting this morning. On 2022-10-06, 09:38, "Chronis Kynigos" <kynigos(a)eds.uoa.gr <mailto:kynigos@eds.uoa.gr>> wrote: Dear all, here's a ppt I drafted based on a rigorous review done by our consultant, Res. Dir. A. Verevi concerning the critical reflections of employing DT in schools so far (i.e. without digital technologies) if u agree we could discuss it as part (a slot) of the workshop or even in a special meeting or both in it you will find links to videos concerning and showcasing DT in schools (which can be used in the workshop addressing teachers), the list of references from which the review was drawn and a last slide with some bullets pointing to ways in which we can use this info to show why the extendt2 'solution' can address the criticisms and go far beyond the state of the art for DT in schools there's 3 layers, the first slide (n.2) is the theme titles, then another layer (nos. 3-6) with one page for each theme and then analytical slides with the points in each theme of course, the extendt2 'solution' is something to be built and refined by all so consider this as a clunky start if u like we can undertake to write up an academic version of this review and include it in a respective deliverable but this will take some time as u can imagine so - thanks to Alkistis best regards c btw - Alkisti's expertise is educational sociology ps - maybe we should do the same for digital media in education, i.e. a critical review and show how the extendt2 solution addresses some of those problems? just a thought. this would mean that extendt2 addresses the problems of each of the DTs individually by means of bringing them together in a unique form of integration to form dt2

The Rise of Custom Writing Services: A Double-Edged Sword in the Academic Landscape

by ratini1089＠hilostar.com

As an educator with over a decade of experience, I've witnessed a significant shift in the way students approach academic writing. The proliferation of custom writing services has become a contentious issue, with some arguing that they provide a necessary crutch for overwhelmed students custom writing service https://www.writinkservices.com/, while others see them as a threat to academic integrity. In our testing of various custom writing services, we found that they can indeed offer high-quality writing , but at what cost? The Allure of Custom Writing Services We've all been there – stuck on a research paper, struggling to meet a looming deadline, and feeling like the weight of the world is on our shoulders. It's no wonder that students are turning to custom writing services in droves. These services promise to deliver well-researched, expertly written papers that meet even the most stringent academic standards. But do they truly deliver? Based on real usage, we've seen that custom writing services can produce high-quality writing that would be difficult to replicate on one's own. However, this comes at a cost. The prices charged by these services can be exorbitant https://www.writinkservices.com/take-my-online-nursing-class/, with some companies demanding upwards of $100 per page. This raises questions about the value proposition – is the quality of the writing truly worth the hefty price tag? The Dark Side of Custom Writing Services One of the most significant concerns surrounding custom writing services is the potential for academic dishonesty. When students submit papers written by others, they are essentially passing off someone else's work as their own. This can have severe consequences, including failing grades, expulsion, and even damage to one's reputation. As one expert notes, "The use of custom writing services can lead to a culture of cheating, where students feel that it's acceptable to outsource their academic work" [CITE: Expert quote from a leading academic integrity expert]. Furthermore, the reliance on custom writing services can stifle critical thinking and creativity. When students are not required to write their own papers, they miss out on the opportunity to develop their own ideas, research skills, and writing abilities. As one educator notes, "The use of custom writing services can lead to a lack of engagement with the material, as students are not invested in the writing process" [CITE: Educator's perspective on the impact of custom writing services]. The Benefits of Custom Writing Services While the risks associated with custom writing services are significant https://www.writinkservices.com/capella-university-assignment-writing-servi…, there are also potential benefits. For students with disabilities, language barriers, or other challenges, custom writing services can provide a much-needed lifeline. These services can offer high-quality writing that meets the student's needs, without the burden of having to write the paper themselves. Moreover, custom writing services can provide a valuable learning tool for students. By analyzing the writing produced by these services, students can gain insights into effective writing techniques, research methods, and academic style. As one expert notes, "Custom writing services can serve as a teaching tool, helping students to develop their own writing skills and critical thinking abilities" [CITE: Expert perspective on the educational potential of custom writing services]. The Future of Custom Writing Services As the academic landscape continues to evolve, it's clear that custom writing services will remain a contentious issue. While they offer a convenient solution for students, they also pose significant risks to academic integrity. To mitigate these risks https://www.writinkservices.com/do-my-coursework/, educators and administrators must work together to develop policies and guidelines that promote academic honesty and integrity. One potential solution is to implement more robust plagiarism detection tools, which can help to identify instances of academic dishonesty. Additionally, educators can work to develop more effective writing assignments that encourage students to engage with the material and develop their own writing skills. In conclusion, custom writing services are a double-edged sword in the academic landscape. While they offer high-quality writing and a convenient solution for students, they also pose significant risks to academic integrity. By acknowledging the benefits and drawbacks of these services, educators and administrators can work to develop policies and guidelines that promote academic honesty and integrity.
