We are sending a reminder of the 2026 International Forum for Peer Learning and Support <https://urldefense.com/v3/__https:/url41.mailanyone.net/scanner?m=1vAm1c-00…> as Call for Proposals closes 5pm on 16th February 2026, and this month we are offering a free webinar to support any students who would like to submit a proposal to present, and any staff who are thinking about submitting a proposal for the first time. At this webinar, you will be given the opportunity to explore how the work you do in the field of peer learning and support can translate into a meaningful conference session, linked to the conference themes.
Queen Margaret University prides itself on student partnership, and we are keen to encourage student representation at the Forum. While this webinar is open to all prospective presenters, if you have a student you feel would be interested in presenting, please guide them towards this support opportunity. In the true ethos of peer support, part of the session will be split, with students being giving an opportunity to work with other students who have previously presented at the Forum, while staff will continue discussions separately.

Facilitated by Dr Nevan Bermingham, co-editor of the Journal of Peer Learning, this session will focus on qualitative research options and guide you from an initial idea toward a realistic project plan. Through instruction and guided hands-on tasks, we'll aim to simplify the research process by offering a few logical methodology pathways, highlight how to achieve publication, and demystify how academic journals like the Journal of Peer Learning work. The boot-camp approach will help you avoid potential pitfalls as you take your first steps toward research publication.

The supervisor training covers:
* an overview of what SI-PASS is
* how SI-PASS works
* practical guidance on implementing SI-PASS in higher education institution, including budgeting, selecting suitable courses, recruiting and training SI-PASS leaders, as well as programme follow-up and evaluation.
In addition, completing the supervisor training gives you exclusive access to a wide community of practice in about 30 countries and 1500 higher education institutions, for example via our supervisor networks.
Supervisor trainings can only be delivered by SI-PASS trainers who have been accredited by the International SI Centre at UMKC, Kansas City, USA (Certified Trainer). This training is provided by the European Centre for SI-PASS in Lund.
