Hi all,
We are introducing a SI-PASS/PAL Leader Appreciation week from Sunday 7th - Saturday 12 November 2021, for us to recognize and appreciate all our Leaders across Europe.
We hope that you as Supervisors will use this as an opportunity to host something on your campus to celebrate and appreciate your SI-PASS/PAL community. In the coming weeks more guidance will follow of some ideas of events/initiatives you could host in order to recognize SI-PASS Leader Appreciation Week.
Within Leader Appreciation week, we will be hosting the 2nd Virtual SI-PASS/PAL Leader Festival as we know there is still a desire for Leaders to come together to share practice, network, learn from and inspire each other.
We are planning to hold a SI-PASS Festival in that week which will offer a series of synchronous and asynchronous sessions, seminars and activities for Leaders.
Leaders who attend the European Centre Festival will be offered:
1. a physical pre-conference/festival pack delivered to the delegate's personal address
2. a kick-off event
3. days including:
* an evening 'headliner (keynote talks/workshops) to spark and challenge current thinking and practice.
* a selection of sessions to attend each day.
* contribution to Leader parallel sessions to share good practice and learn from others
4. Each Leader to also be allocated to a small action learning facilitated group (with a mix of Institutions) to share experiences and work on tasks throughout the Festival and beyond, in which there will be outputs generated to share with all attendees and the Leaders own Institutions
5. A celebratory event at the end of the week (opened up to a larger group of Leaders/non-conference attendees from Institutions who have delegates attending)
6. have the opportunity to continue collaborations beyond the Festival informing the development of SI-PASS across institutions
We are keen to make this event as accessible as possible in terms of engagement and cost. Therefore, we have been conscious to keep costs as low as possible and offer group packages enabling more Leaders to attend from the same institution. Many of the Festival events will feature asynchronous content allowing participating Leaders to engage with material at times that suit them.
960 SEK Swedish per Leader (Approx £80 GBP)
4175 SEK Swedish for 5 Leaders (Approx £350 GBP)
7750 SEK for 10 Leaders (Approx £650 GBP)
As some of you might want to register early to make the payment before July 31st here is a link to the registration form: https://www.si-pass.lu.se/webform/booking_form_european_si_pass_le Please note that you will have to wait for an invoice from Lund university before you can pay by credit card.
This is a Leader focused event and we hope to work in partnership with Supervisors in the event delivery/engage in some aspects. Supervisors of participating institutions will be invited to a pre-Festival event to understand the Festival journey.
Best wishes
Lise-Lotte, Will, Marcia & Isabella

Hi SI-PASS, PAL and PASS Colleagues
Closing date: 27/06/2021
I'm very happy to announce that the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) is looking to appoint a Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Administration and Training Coordinator with a specific focus on regular liaison with internal and external stakeholders; enquiry services; delivery of training to staff and PAL Leaders; and the coordination of administrative support.
This is a permanent 1 FTE E grade vacancy.
We are looking for somebody who is dynamic; able to work relatively independently and manage competing priorities; has excellent organisational skills and experience of supporting or delivering training to groups and individuals; and is able to hit the ground running.
Joining our small but fast-paced PAL team is an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively with students, faculty staff as well as contacts in other services, and counterparts at other HEIs.
This is an exciting time to be working in Peer Assisted Learning at UWE as our strategic importance is growing in terms of the student experience and student success. PAL provision will be particularly critical next academic year in supporting student transitions, boosting their academic confidence and wellbeing and developing a strong student community after a year of remote studying.
