Dear coordinators and project managers,
We have just had a meeting with Bartek Lessaer, the new Policy Officer from DG EAC in charge of your topic, to discuss the planning and our potential institutional support to the Policy Conference
of your cluster of projects.
Bartek is looking forward to the event and is happy to facilitate a large room for the meeting at one of the EC buildings. In this respect, please confirm the number of potential participants
that you would expect. He will also take care of inviting relevant Policy Officers from across different Commission services that may be interested on your results and policy recommendations.
Also, we would like to propose the dates of
Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th September for the conference. We will confirm whether the meeting will take place across the afternoon of that Monday and Tuesday morning, depending on the meeting room availability, but for now, please
pencil in those days.
All five projects will be still running on those dates, which will facilitate the attendance of your representatives.
Incidentally, we would also like to invite a couple of other projects dealing with AI, up-skilling or related aspects. For example,
Link4Skills
With regard to the questions to be addressed by you, let’s discuss at a separate online meeting in the coming days.
In principle, from our side, we would like to have a good understanding of the challenges and limitations from applying AI and other novel technologies in your different sectors.
However, we would also appreciate having your questions to us regarding the AI Act or whatever else you may consider important for the successful implementation of these technologies in education.
We will also expect clear policy recommendations from your side with regard to further research needs, the implementation of the AI Act, etc. Whatever you consider that is critical based on the
scientific evidence that you have collected.
Please do not hesitate to let us know of any other points that you need clarification about.
Many thanks to all of you for your commitment and great work over these last three years.
From all four of us,
