UX in Libraries: Connections and Collaborations - 6 to 8 June 2023 in Brighton, UK

A provisional programme is now available for this year’s UX in Libraries conference in Brighton (6-8 June 2023). If you are interested in how users experience your library and committed to delivering more user-centric and relevant academic or public library services then this is the event for you.

We have some excellent speakers lined up from the UK, Denmark, Canada, the US, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Our 2 keynotes are Marie Østergård, Library Director of Aarhus Public Libraries who oversees the highly-acclaimed user-centred Dokk1 library and Dr Arun Verma, a leading figure in implementing and integrating intersectionality in systems, policy and programmes internationally, whose edited book ‘Anti-racism in higher education’ is already influencing the debate and accelerating action for inclusion in higher education.

If you are new to UX (user experience) work then there is a pre-conference workshop with expert Andy Priestner which will get you up to speed. Beyond that there are keynote and plenary talks, a team challenge, interactive workshops and numerous shorter presentations from library staff who are actively using UX techniques to improve physical and digital library services.

There’s also a social programme which takes in the best that Brighton has to offer including the Pier, the Old Ship’s Paganini Ballroom for our Gala Dinner and pop-indie-rock band Major Major.

UX in Libraries is a truly international conference, regularly attracting delegates from 20 countries around the world. We very much want the strong tradition of lots of progressive Swedish librarians attending to continue.
